I wanted this pose to evoke a feeling of being completely in the present with your child, the weight, the scent, the feel. Sharing with each other the silent vow that you will be there for always. The months of infancy are like none other, maybe because you feel the baby is still part of you, baby and mother still as one, nothing can come between. The essential promise that a mother makes to her child, to love and protect forevermore, is unconditional. -Susan Lordi

A gift to celebrate new beginnings, new babies, new families, and the loving relationships that develop between parent and child, grandparent and child.

“Calla lilies are a fresh surprise – uplifting in shape; invigorating in color. I wanted to express their vibrancy with a gradation of color that builds, starting as limey green, morphing to beautiful coral, tinged with wine. And calla lilies also have a long blooming season... So the qualities of this flower represent supportive, constant friendship. The kind of friend who stays by our side, lifting our spirits through the best and the worst.” —Susan Lordi

Willow Tree® sculptures are by Susan Lordi, and from DEMDACO
Each Willow Tree® piece is cast from artist Susan Lordi’s original carving and then painted by hand.

Calla lilies are a symbol of majestic beauty. I chose this flower to represent a pure and simple wish for beauty and peace in our lives, a universal sentiment for so many occasions- birth, marriage, anniversaries, in sympathy and in remembrance. Beautiful wishes are what we send to those we care for and about.  -Susan Lordi

A gift that expresses love and caring,  or for those who love flowers!

Willow Tree®  You're the Best

Thank you for making a difference

“This piece is all about the apple. I wanted it to symbolize many things ... to stand out, be large, delicious, shiny. Obviously, it’s a symbol for teacher appreciation — but the apple is also just a beautiful fruit! A metaphor for good health, for wisdom, for someone chosen for something big ... for a special person who always gives the best of her or himself, and makes a difference in the lives of others. I like that this piece is so open — I’ll be interested to read how others interpret it.”—Susan Lordi

Willow Tree® Prayer Of Peace

Seeking the quiet within

"I wanted this prayer figure to be a humble piece, but very centering, calming, peaceful, with a universal gesture of meditative thought. The surface is carved with texture and patterns of living natural forms. Even though this is a quiet piece, I wanted the imagery to be very alive with movement – to have an inner energy of life." —Susan Lordi
